Deep Eddy Pool holds the distinction of being the oldest swimming pool in Texas, dating to the 1910s when a man named A.J. Eilers built a concrete dam in a natural spring-fed eddy of the Colorado River. Today, the spring-fed pool operates year-round with constant cool water temperatures. The pool is divided into a lap pool and a shallow wading area for families. The historic bathhouse and pecan tree-shaded grounds create an atmosphere that connects swimmers to over a century of Austin history. It's a neighborhood treasure for the surrounding Clarksville and West Austin areas.
